Little Monkeys narrowly missed out on an Outstanding rating when it was visited by the inspectors representing the industry body Ofsted.
The nursery and preschool was complemented for its "abundant, good quality resources" and its relevant, stimulating activities that "promote development and learning".
Children make good progress and staff support those in need of some additional help well, added the report.
The inspectors also reserved praise for the Childcare Practitioners at Little Monkeys, commenting that: "Staff consistently model positive behaviour and language. Children learn from this and play kindly and patiently with each other. Management follows clear procedures to ensure all staff are suitable for their role. Staff understand and implement detailed policies and procedures to ensure children are safeguarded effectively."
Following the visit, the team at Little Monkeys have kick-started a program that aims to surpass the two recommendations in the report. One of the most important steps will be the input from parents via a survey.
"We are looking forward to implementing a number of new initiatives inspired by the inspection," explained Nursery Manager,Rachel Tregear. "The report in the broadest sense is a fine reflection of the many good things we do at this setting and provides a highly achievable platform for improvement."
